Joining NFW
1. NFW is a fictional based, non-profit angled efed. Only original characters are allowed but the use of real wrestlers as pic bases is perfectly fine. There are several with us who do. As long as the pic base is not listed as taken under our Taken Lists Of Pictures and Songs section.
2. Currently, we are running two weekly shows - Collision on Tuesdays, Trauma on Saturdays. Each show has a separate roster from the other. There are 12 super shows each year, one per month. Most are alternate exclusively between Collision and Trauma but we have 3 cross brand events every year.
3. Please ensure that you submit a fully filled out application to the Contract Application board. Incomplete applications may delay the process. If you have any questions, while filling it out, please do not hesitate to DM StevenBrodyNFW or DatJessieGirl97 on Twitter. You may also reach us on Discord. We are here to make sure everyone enjoys themselves and has fun. Once it is accepted, an admin will move it to the NFW Roster board.
4. With that note, we want to stress again, that this is a place for wrestling fans and writers to have fun and engage in, what we hope are, gripping storylines. If all you care about is whether or not your character comes in and gets an immediate shot at a championship, then this is most likely not the e-fed for you. In fact, I can guarantee that it's not.
5. We have two admins total. The admins handle/control the in-game General Managers, answer questions and make vital decisions. Major decisions are discussed and decided on by the three admins. Never will a single admin decide on something that could massively effect the entire fed. We also have our social media rep who can answer most if not all questions in the event the admins are unavailable. We are a team of friendly, unbiased individuals that are all willing to help and listen. We do not play favorites with anyone. Everybody that joins NFW gets out what they put in.
6. As far as the general basics are concerned, it should go without saying. Treat everyone with respect. That means everyone! Not just the admins. That means your fellow players. If you have a problem with someone, talk it out and don't bring outside drama into the fed. If you and the other player can't squash it, get ahold of an admin and they will try to meditate the problem and come to a solution. Racial slurs and any kind of prejudice will not be tolerated by any means. Offenses along these lines will get you immediately banned.
7. Be respectful of race, religion, LGBT+ and all of that. There will be no warning for violating any of these. You will instantly be removed.
Enjoy the entertainment value they put out and remember that this is all for fun. If you have a character that has a bit of a "potty mouth", trust me. Nobody here's going to be offended. We're all adults here and can handle it. Think of the rating of New Frontier Wrestling as TV-MA. We operate like the Attitude Era of WWE, or even closer to the original ECW. You wanna curse in promos? Feel free to, if it's in your character's personality.
How NFW Works
1. We are an angled fed focusing, primarily, on story. We encourage hyping and selling on Twitter as well as segments but please be aware that doing the most work towards hyping a match does not guarantee a win. Wins will be decided on what would best suit the story. That being said, effort is still rewarded. Someone who participates in hyping before and selling after their match, win or lose, is more liable to receive a push than someone who enters the fed and then does nothing. Don't let a loss in a match here get you down. You win some, you lose some. Participate and have fun; you'll do fine overall.
Character Limit
Maximum amount of characters allowed per handler is a total of 2. 1 per show.Keep in mind if you wish to portray a tag or trio, this may count as 1 of your slots and you can still have another slot open.
That means, however, that your tag/trio team will only ever be booked as a tag/trio team, pursuing the tag/trio titles.
That also means that, should you decide to have a trio team where two members act as the tag team and the third member pursues the singles titles, that takes up both of your spots on the show they are on.
If anyone has further questions, feel free to send an inbox message or reach me on twitter StevenBrodyNFW.
Booking & Matches
1. Booking, for the most part, is done by management based on what storylines and/or feuds are hot and popular. Championship feuds and grudge rivalries a.k.a blood feuds are usually booked in priority before any other match. This does not necessarily mean that a champion who is feuding with a challenger for their title will be in some kind of match involving each other every week, necessarily. An example would be to look at WWE. You don't always see the challenger for a title and the champion of said title in a match every week leading up to a super show, but more often than not, you will see them on the show cutting a promo to keep the heat going. Our regular weekly episodes have up to eight matches (nine on occasion but not usually). We will book what needs to be booked to keep important feuds and angles going, primarily. After that, we will announce if there are any spots open on the card before posting it. From there, you have the chance to approach and ask to be booked.2. Matches for the monthly super shows are strictly storyline matches. Championship bouts, grudge matches between two heated rivals, etc. Our super shows tend to have anywhere from 8-10 matches. If your wrestler has a championship he or she will be booked to defend his or her championship at the event taking place for their brand. Title defenses will also take places over the weekly shows as storyline calls for it.
3. As mentioned before, show results are uploaded every Tuesday and Saturday, as well as biweekly on Thursday. Weekly broadcasts, super shows, special events, etc. We do our very best to keep the show on a consistent schedule. We do not have a certain time that the results go up. Some feds have their schedule and system down so that they are able to get their shows up every week, same scheduled time, on the dot. We do not. The results will be up every Tuesday, Saturday and every other Thursday as much as possible. We do our best to try and get the show up on time. This is a fun game that we all play. We aren't getting paid to do this but we try to stick to the schedule when we can.
4. Again, staff will determine match outcomes based on story requirements. That being said, handlers are allowed and even encouraged to work together with each other to come up with their own little stories and feuds. We want everyone to have fun and be creative. You'll also be approached by staff if we think we have a neat idea for your character. Rest assured, you are not obligated to accept it. This is YOUR character, in the end. If an idea we suggest doesn't fit him or her, please feel free to tell us out right.
Segment Structure
So, at this point, you're probably wondering: "okay, so how am I expected to structure my segments here, in New Frontier Wrestling?" Simply put: think of everything as happening in front of a camera. Your segments take place on the show. They are the Aftershock Segments that take place behind the scenes after matches as well. You are more than welcome to include any internal thoughts or monologue that your character is thinking, but try to describe any outward activities the way we would see it if we were fans watching it on the video wall from the audience or on the television at home. Think of how you see WWE and Impact's segments (before Impact started taking on the weird sci-fi angle with their stuff.) The camera usually fades in on a scene when it starts and fades out or cuts away when it ends. During the segment, if two or more wrestlers are involved in a scene, the camera usually pans back and forth from one to the other, or it pans out wide to catch all of them at once. Also include any realistic, minor body language your wrestler may be doing while they are talking. They're human beings. Not robots. They're not going to just stand there, not moving as they speak.
Here is a round about example of how we like segments structured.
Contract Application
Here, you will find the profile templates for characters. We have templates for if you want a singles wrestlers or if you would like to play a tag team. Fill out whichever one you choose and post it as a new post under the Contract Applications section. Once your application is accepted, an admin will move it to the NFW Roster section. This may take up to 24 hours but no longer. If 24 hours does go by and you hear nothing, feel free to contact @stevenbrodynfw on Twitter. Please make sure to enter the information for each category outside of the end tag so it is not in bold like the category name itself. If you need help hosting the image for your picture base, just let us know in the email with your application. We'll gladly help you out.
