RECORD UPDATED ON 10/13/2024
The last incarnation of the NFW Tag Team Championships were once gender specific titles, prior to NFW's
transition into an intergender company. Following the retirement of champions The McKeesport Mafia,
"The Punisher" Andrew Payne and Big Daddy Payne, a unification match was held for the vacant
Tag Team Titles as well as the Women's Tag Team Championships and the Mixed Tag Team Championships.
With the Tag Team Titles suspended in vacancy, Women's Tag Champions, The Last of The Valkyries (then
known as Bloody Fairytale), competed against Mixed Tag Champions, Kicks N Stones (Vincent Stone and
Erin Mercer) to unify all three visions. This match took place on inside a Steel Cage on 10/08/2019 on
Collision episode #51 where Bloody Fairytale defeated Kicks N Stones to unify the belts. While once a
dual branded championship, the Tag Team titles were moved exclusively to the Collision brand, following
the introduction of the Trios Tag Division, just before the 2022 draft. The championships were retired on
February 28th, 2024 when the final champions, Thicc Attack, faced off against 2/3 of the final Trios
Champions to unify both sets of titles into what is now the NFW Alliance Championships.
As of October 12th, 2024, the titles have been reinstated and redubbed as the NFW World Tag Team Championships.
The first reign since their return is considered to have begun on October 8th, 2024, with the retirement of the
NFW Alliance Championships.
