"...And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Til the landslide brought me down"
Damn, Stevie. Why do you make me feel this way? Keiji thought to himself. It was nearly afternoon, and he was still laying in bed. He hadn't even bothered removing his clothes from yesterday, or getting under the covers. He felt lost, empty, incomplete.
Keiji: (sigh)
He wanted to say so much, but just couldn't find the words. In fact, he hadn't uttered a single word since he got the news. He was feeling on top of the world, then he got the question, that brought everything crashing down. "Mr. Sugiwara. What are your thoughts on the departure of Arley and Lash?" He didn't even know they had left. He felt like screaming, or crying, but all he could do was stare daggers through his ceiling.
Keiji: …
He knew he could make new friends, new memories. But, that was the last thing he wanted. Now, though. He knew he had to get some food, so wills himself out of bed and goes to the kitchen. Keiji pulls a Pop Tart out of the cupboard, and begins to eat it right out of the package. It's funny, he thought. He used to get so annoyed at Lash, for this very thing. In this moment, it made him smile though. Amazing how something that used to get on your nerves, could make you happy in time.
Keiji: …
As he starts toward the trash can, to toss the wrapper, he catches a glimpse of Lash's spare SACTAP outfit, and inspiration hits like a Mac truck. Keiji grabs the Lash Mannequin, and walks out the door with a slight smile. Keiji taps a button on his garage, and the door slides up. Keiji's impatience was highly evident, as he waits for the slow door. Once it opens up, his eyes double in size. There they were, Super Tiger, and Arley. Keiji tears up, as he places Lash between them
Keiji: ...guys. I, uh...I miss you already.
His heart sinks, and with it his head. His silence was broken, but hearing the words again hurt.
Keiji: Now...I know you moved on. That's ok, I'm happy for you. Lash, you're my best friend, and I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather have in my corner.
Keiji sniffs, and gives the mannequin a big hug.
Keiji: Arley, you...you were like the glue holding this bizarre friendship together. But, that's the thing. It's more than that to me, you're all like a family to me. Lash, stop calling your sister a bitch…
Keiji chuckles, he knew that somewhere, somehow, that's exactly what Lash was doing.
Keiji: I know you two argue, and carry on like you can't stand each other. But in the end, you're family, we're family. So that means, we're there for each other.
He sighs, and gives Arley's stand in. Keiji lowers his head, and turns his attention to Super Tiger, thinking this one was going to be tricky.
Keiji: I know you didn't go anywhere, ST. I realize that. I just, I don't know. Without Arley around, I don't know why you'd want to hang out with me. I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong. Just know, I always have, and will think highly of you.
Keiji hugs the Super Tiger stand in, and makes his way to the corner of the room. Keiji grabs his acoustic guitar, and a chair. Making his way in front of his friends, he places the chair, and gets ready to play.
Keiji: This one is for you guys, wherever you may be.
With a deep inhale, Keiji begins strumming. There was only one song he could think of, and he knew that it had to be played.
Keiji: I took my love, I took it down. Climbed a mountain and I turned around…
