Aftershock Episode 4 7/25/20

The camera opens up inside the production room of NFW’s Collision Center where we are greeted by Aftershock host, Jason Hardwick. He stands in front of the large video screen.

Jason Hardwick: Hello and welcome everyone! I’m Jason Hardwick and this is NFW Aftershock. Our new weekend exclusive of bonus footage for our Collision and Trauma broadcasts. This is where you’ll find exclusive backstage activity from the men and women of the New Frontier. For tonight’s matches, we’ve got new Trauma talent, Nathanael Morian taking on River Chance AND we’ll see House Crowley taking on La Sirvientas de Yum Kimil! All that and more! Let’s get the show under way!

Match #1. Singles Match

Nathanael Morian v. River Chance

Morian and Chance met in the center and locked up tight. Nathan went for a wristlock but River surprised him with her power and pushed her arm up out of it, reversing into an arm wrench and pulled him into a rear waistlock before lifting him up and taking him to the mat. River floated over, transitioning into a Guillotine Choke. Nathan powered up onto his feet and sent River over with a Northern Lights Suplex with a bridge for a one count. River kicked out and moved right in as Nathan sat up to lock him into a Sleeper Hold. The look on his face said it all. This woman was strong and he was surprised at just how much. Nathan still made it up to his feet, managing to angle his body the right way before he got River’s arms loose and sent her over with a Tsuri Goshi hip toss. River hit the mat and rolled right up to her feet. Nathan charged in to deliver a lariat to River but the woman just countered, snatching him off his feet into a Powerslam, hopped to his feet and hit a Senton backsplash before flipping over into a cover for a two count.

River pulled Nathan up to his feet, delivering a European Uppercut before whipping him into the corner. She charged in for another big European Uppercut, hitting Morian so hard his feet left the mat and he looked like he was going to fly out of the ring. River crossed the ring again and charged in for another European Uppercut but Nathan’s foot came up, catching her in the face. As River grabbed at her jaw, Nathan hopped onto the middle turnbuckle and came off with a diving clothesline for another two count. The two made it back to their feet and exchanged back and forth chops. River clearly had more power behind hers despite the weight disadvantage but Nathan had resiliency to boot and kept matching River’s strikes. It looked like River rocked him with a heavy forearm before whipping him into the ropes, clearly looking for the Pommel Strike but Nathan slipped around behind her and locked in his Cobra Clutch, Ex Tenaci Vindictam Ego Retribuam. River struggled defiantly against the chokehold to the point that Nathan finally followed through with the suplex release of the hold, dropping her onto her neck. She immediately began making it to her feet, albeit a little wobbly as Nathan reached around from behind her and caught her wrist, spinning her around into the KILLSHOT!! River crumpled to the mat and so to did Nathan, going into a cover with a leg hook for the three count.

We cut backstage as Carter Slade comes through the curtain with Jason Hardwick right behind him.

Jason Hardwick: Carter, Carter, if I could just get a moment, ask a few questions.

Carter: I’ll answer one question.

Carter looks over at Jason with a snarl as he cracks his knuckles and his neck.

Jason Hardwick: Okay, fair enough. How did it feel to get a win in your NFW Trauma debut?

Carter: Really? How did it feel? It felt good Jason. I went out there with a mission, I succeeded, and now I feel good. Of all the questions, you go with the most… ugh, this is why I hate the media.

Carter shakes his head and walks off, the camera’s still following him as he grabs a bottle of water, rounds the corner and smacks into something, but there’s no one in front of him. He then feels a bump at his knee and a little snort, then looks down and sees the pet of F.M. Young Volta the Capybara.

Carter: Oh, it’s you.

Carter looks down at Volta for a second and leans down, but the animal takes a slight step back and Carter stands back up, with them at a bit of a standstill. Volta back steps and watches Carter expectantly. F.M.Young comes around the corner and whistles, the large rodent takes a few more waddles backward.

F.M.: There you are! You know better than to just run off like that, I don’t care if the catering table is just over there.

F.M. looks up and notices Carter, she gives a slight smile.

F.M.: Hey, sorry about that, he slipped his leash. I was just here taking a tour of production and he must have smelled the food.

Carter leaned down again and this time Volta at least didn’t move away.

Carter: It’s okay. If it had been a person, probably would have tossed them into the wall, but I’ve always found animals better than most people anyway.

Carter gave a half hearted smirk as he leaned down a little more and Volta took another step forward. F.M. makes a click noise and Volta steps forward a bit, after sniffing his hand placidly allowing Carter to pet him.

F.M.: Fair enough, I can definitely understand that point of view. I’m surprised you knew what he was. Then again, I don’t suppose there are that many giant rodents just waddling around in this industry. He’s not usually this shy.

F.M. looks back from Carter, to Volta, then up again at Carter, slightly wary but none the less allowing them interact.

Carter: I’ve been told I don’t always give off the best vibe.

Volta make his usual snuffing honk, and F.M. hands him something from the food table, which he eats quietly.

F.M.: Been there, done that too. Nice to meet you...Mister Slade I’m assuming, as why you would have anyone else’s name on your pants?

Carter: Yes. Carter Slade, so Carter is fine Miss Young.

Carter smirks, already aware of she was as he grabbed an apple off the catering table,ripped it in half and handed it to Volta who then took a quick liking to him.

Carter: So checking out the show for business or pleasure?

F.M.: Ah, yeah. Forgive me, we talk on twitter occasionally but sometimes I don’t put the pieces together. Business, I’m hoping to join the trauma brand. Even if it’s over some minor objections of others.

Carter: Minor objections, pay them no mind. Be good to have more competition around here.

Carter smirked, cracked his knuckles, then handed the other half of the apple to Volta.

Carter: I’ll let you enjoy the rest of the show. Need to get some ice on my neck anyway, and my jaw, and my shoulder.

He gave a slight chuckle and grin, then leaned down to pet Volta, now being allowed to scratch behind his ear.

Carter: Good boy.

Carter gave him one last scratch, then ripped another apple in half and handed it to the cute capybara before giving him a simple head nod to F.M.

Carter: See you around hopefully. Maybe get in the ring against you some time.

He readjusted his knee pad as he said that, then grabbed another water bottle and headed off.

Match #2. Tag Match

House Crowley v. La Sirvientas de Yum Kimil

This wasn’t so much a match as it was just a brutal beatdown at the hands of House Crowley members Iscariot and Xaphan. They immediately went after Lady Death and just hammered away at her. The two of them made frequent tags in and out with each other, never giving their opponents a chance at separation and a chance to get in this match. It was clear there were out there to make a statement towards their opponents at Sudden Death and a statement it was. Everytime Santa Meurta tried to get into the match, Iscariot or Xaphan was there to put an immediate stop to it. Finally though, Xaphan climbed up to the top rope as Iscariot put Lady Death up on his shoulders and got ready to deliver Damned in any Language. Xaphan leaped and delivered a double stomp to the back of the head of Lady Death before Iscariot delivered his finishing move and hooked the leg to get the three count.
