<I was branded as a lunatic>
<Had to make sure my skin stayed thick>
<I walked the streets like I was ten feet tall>
<Grit my teeth and smile at them all>
<Smoking cigarettes and skipping school>
<I was never taught that golden rule>
<One day my time will come>
<Look back and see the sun>
<I'm ready to set this town on fire>
<I'm ready to burn, I'm ready to>
<(Burn, burn, burn, burn)>
"I still can't believe that we aren't on the bloody card!" Jacob growled hotly as he paced back and forth, dressed simply in a pair of blue jeans and a Blizzard "Green Linen Shirt" with a Hanzo Ultimate hoodie on over that.
"I understand your frustration, but you know full well that some companies set their cards up way in advance, Jake." Ben countered as he watched the powerhouse of his team pace back and forth.
"And of course, Wil is too wrapped up in..." Jake started to say before a very ruckus guitar riff started up.
<Say you are a dancer - come and dance>
Both men turned to look at the other half of the Dark Circle in the form of Wil who is currently stretched out on the couch in the room and looking at his iPhone with a big grin on his face as he rapidly starts typing something.
"...who has he been talking to?" Ben mused before taking a sip of his coffee.
"Possibly Jetty?" Jake mused with a shake of his head as he thought about the young woman in question.
"While she did just send me something..." Wil said as he turned and held his phone close to him with a rather secretive smile on his face, "A very lovely something at that... and no, I will not be sharing because I am a gentleman..."
Jake arched an eyebrow, "Since when?" he quipped before doing a fist bump with Ben who smirked a little bit in return.
"Anyway, all snides about my character aside. I have been talking with a couple of our fellows and it seems that two of them are quite interested in a company that won't hold them back or give the usual bullshit phrase of "there will be a big pay out in the end" like some companies that I have worked for have done." Wil countered as he scrolled through his phone.
"Really, who if I may ask?"
"Well, Robert Garcia did say that he was interested." Wil said with a grin.
Now this brought Jake up short as he knew Robert, trained with the Mexican wrestler as a matter of fact at Stephanie Matsuda's "War Room Dojo" up in New York, and along with Ryo-he was one of Jake's closest friends. "Why is Robert looking to join?"
"The promotion that he joined up in Canada, Calgary Combat Zone Wrestling... well they wanted to shove him under a mask and called him and I quote.." Wil started to explain before he brought the point in the conversation directly by continuing with "El Egotistico Fantastico!"
Both Ben and Jake had to blink at that as they were trying to figure out if Wil was pulling their legs or not when finally Ben said "You have gotta be shitting us."
Wil shook his head, "Nope, I've got the conversation on Twitter with Robert right here if either of you want to read it?"
Jacob shook his head, "No, I trust Robert and if he says that he's stuck in bullshit, then he's stuck in bullshit." he explained.
"I do have one question though, Robert is from Mexico right?" Ben asked pointedly.
"Yeah, he's from Toluca Mexico. Why?" Jacob asked.
"Because of the simple fact that it seems any time a Mexican born wrestler tries to get work anywhere, some promoters want to shove them under a mask and try to make their own lucha legacy.. I mean look at Lucy, her mother was Latina and yet they stuck her with that masked butterfly from hell gimmick." Ben pointed out.
Wil nodded, "Yeah but to be fair, she did take a crappy gimmick and make it her own. I mean she made it her *FUCKING* own, man!"
Ben nodded in agreement, "You'll get no argument from me on that, but mine does have some merit right?"
Jacob couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head, "Yeah Ben, you got a point." he admitted before looking over at Wil. "So who was the other person than Robert?"
"Kyle Morrison."
Both Jake and Ben winced at that name to which Wil responses with a confused look.
"Hey don't get me wrong, Kyle's a good fighter and all..but if I had to choose between him or Jacob Hunter, I'd chose Hunter because at least with him I know that he can go the distance." Jake said with a firm nod.
Wil rolled his eyes, "Alright, look I know that Kyle is a bit... husky... and he tends to get distracted rather easily by pretty girls and all but he's pretty loyal and plus I get along with him."
"Okay." Jacob said, not being completely sold on the prospect.
“What?” Wil asked, now more confused by his partner’s tone.
“I just don’t think he’s the right fit for this group. Maybe that subgroup idea that you had..but for the person to back us up in the ring?” Jake explained.
Ben nodded, “He’s got a point. Don’t get me wrong, I like hanging with Kyle but… he does tend to get a tad carried away at times”.
Wil rolled his eyes, “Look, he’s one of two people that reached out to US and I’m not going to turn him away if he wants to join us.. I mean that’s one of the important things about doing what we’re doing alright?”
Jacob didn’t say anything in return but simply nodded his quiet agreement.
“Since we’re on the subject of people who you want to have as apart of the Circle, have you given any thought to whom you actually want to have be the team’s manager?” Ben added as he looked at his two charges. “I mean I’m just the advisor, the Consigliere as you two keep referring to me as. Any thoughts?”
“Well… I got one.” Wil admitted.
“Only one?” Jake countered with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah, Tink Evermore.” Wil offered up.
Now at this Jake’s left eyebrow twitched as he thought about the name for a moment. “I’ve...heard of her? She’s that cute little blonde that used to work in Women’s Wrestling Revolution?”
Wil blinked at his partner and then nodded, “You mean the incredibly tight blonde with a killer amount of style, then yes.” he explained with a faint rolling of his eyes. “The point is that I think she would be a perfect fit among the group, I mean we are the ingobernables of professional wrestling after all.”
Wil then gave his partner a serious look, “Look, all joking and shit aside I need to know if you’re on board with this. I honestly believe that Tink would be a perfect fit for the Circle and I need to know that you’re on board with this.”
Jake crossed his arms over his broad chest and was quiet for a few moments before finally nodded, “Alright. I’ll follow your lead on this, Wil.” was all that he said.
“Cool, I’ll reach out to her in the next couple of days and try to get the ball rolling.”
“However, there is a name that I want you to think over for a possible member of the group as well since you’re wanting me to consider Kyle, fair?” Jake then continued.
Wil nodded, “That’s fair, who’s the person?”
“Corrina Grey”
Wil had to blink at that name since he knew of Corrina's family and what not, there was no doubt about her skills or character... but there was only one question that he could think of in response to her name being dropped;
"Why her?"
Jake gave him a sad smile, “I think that she’s a skilled wrestler and I think that she would be just as awesome a member of this unit as say Kyle or Tink.” he explained before adding in a slightly more respectful tone, “Besides, I don’t want her to think that she’s been abandoned or forgotten by anyone with all the changes going on with NDW and OWT, she is to be respected you dig?”
Wil raised his right eyebrow as he wasn’t expecting such an impassioned reaction out of his partner before looking over at Ben who nodded his approval as well.
“Alright, we’re in agreement then. Ben, if you would be so kind as in try to find Miss Grey for us so that we can have a sit down and see if she would like to join our little tea party of mayhem because I do think that she’d be a perfect fit for our group.” Wil said before walking up and putting a hand on his partner’s right shoulder and giving it a respectful squeeze.
“And nobody should ever be forgotten, especially among the ingobernable.”
