Civil War 2
Chapter 11
“Hold the line”
The gate slammed into Maya launching the caramel-skinned woman into the air. She landed on the grass as the Sins hit the concrete and rolled backward until he rolled back to his feet and the hound slammed into the windshield of a car.
Through the now-opened doors of the castle, the wall was shown in the final stages of closing showing that people had made it safely down into the Bunker, even if Maya was now trapped up here.
She would have to fight.
Jasmine came out first with Morgan on her left and Abigail on her right. As they stepped forward alarms began to ring in the distance and a sudden roaring light appeared miles to the south.
Jasmine’s eyes narrowed.
“They set off robbery and fire alarms across town….if the cops are heading there now? They won’t make it this way for at least twenty minutes….fuck….”
“Then it’s up to us.” The fiery Italian shouted.
Morgan fanned out toward Maya with a Glock held in each hand and popping off shots. Two took one of the hounds in the side of the head and the eye. The eye popped with a loud sizzling hiss but its head snapped toward her, the one black eye burning with hate. Two others hit a female demon dead in the chest with wet suction sounds spraying black lifeless blood across the grass.
“They weren’t lying!” Morgan shouted as the hound bounded for her. She dropped to her back sliding across the moist grass popping off another handful of shots into the hound's underbelly but it landed on its feet and slid across the grass digging its nails into the dirt to turn.
Another of the hounds came at her blind side launching herself at her throat mouth open only to find itself taken by the throat by a big hand. Morgan looked over to find River standing beside her with the hound by the throat.
“Bad Canine.” River stated matter of factly. “Cease this activity at once.”
River turned and with all her strength hurled the hound into the stone wall of the castle. It slammed into the hard stone with a loud crunch and fell to the dirt where it tried to get up but its legs wouldn’t work.
River turned to check on Morgan and found the Italian woman on her back with her palm pressed into the jaw of a woman half her size who was pinning her to the ground with ease.
“GET THA FUCK OFF ME BITCH!”
Suddenly River was hit with such force she saw stars and staggered back. Four or five staggering steps backward and her back hit the wall beside the snarling incapacitated hound. When her vision cleared a man with short blonde hair the size of Javier was walking toward her. The man swung again and River ducked and slammed a right hand hard across his jaw only for the man’s head to snap to the side and then snap right back and hit her again in the side of the head sending her rolling across the wall to an open door. A big boot slams into her chest sending her flying back into the room and from view as the Demon stalks in after her.
Morgan grunted and adjusted until she got a leg up between her and the woman trying to literally bite her face. She planted a foot against the woman’s abdomen and shoved up. When the woman was in the air Morgan took her by the arm and flipped her into an arm bar that she yanked back with a loud CRACK.
Morgan pushed herself to her feet panting as the smaller woman scrambled to her feet like a spider and before Morgan’s eyes she stretched out her broken arm and the bone set with a loud CRACK.
Morgan stared in shock with an open mouth.
“....We’re in fuckin trouble….”
Across from her Jasmine was slammed back first into the hood of the car with the broken windshield by another of the black-eyed men. His hand was around her throat and squeezing. She got a foot up and slammed it into his face forcing him back a step. Before she could sit up he brought a clubbing blow down but she managed to roll to one side of the hood. The arm slammed into the metal denting it and then came down again only for her to roll the other way into the dent and it slammed into the metal again.
Then suddenly a small brown-haired woman was on the demon's back. She reached around his head and manicured nails yanked across his face clawing at his nose and eyes. The move was enough for him to not hit Jasmine when she was stuck in the dent. But he reached up behind him and grabbed her by the hair yanking over his shoulder.
Lluvia slammed into the hood so hard she bounced and a sudden gasping rush left her as the wind left her. She lay there in a fetal position grasping and Jasmine did her her best to cover her head and chest with her body.
The Demon stood above them, black blood running in rivers down its face from where its eyes used to be.
“NO!” Jasmine screamed in fear as the double-armed clubbing blow came down. It was about to slam into Jasmine and Lluvia when suddenly two large arms wrapped around its torso pinning the arms down.
Jasmine looked over its shoulder into the face of the mask, His biceps flexed with effort as the arms strained to hold the Demon at bay.
“GET HER!” The masked man shouted through gritted teeth. “I CAN’T HOLD IT LONG!”
Jasmine pulled Lluvia, who was still trying to remember how to breathe while above her the Demon's arms thrust out forcefully breaking the grasp. It threw an elbow back into the masked face staggering him as one of the Hounds slammed into its side biting into the chest just under the armpit. Black blood ran down the masked man’s torso.
Torn between getting her wife out and helping her brother Jasmine chooses to throw Lluvia’s arm over her shoulder and help her stagger toward the house. Behind her, the Masked man held the male demon at bay with one arm while struggling to free the Hound's mouth from his chest with the other and both arms trembled unsuccessfully.
Just when his strength was about to fail a blade arched up and the point of it came out of the demon's mouth stopping inches from the masked face. Behind him, the small woman wearing the face mask and full body armor looked up into his eyes. The masked man released the demon grabbed the hound’s jaws with each hand and yanked with a scream of effort slamming the jaws in opposite directions.
The Hound fell dead and dissolved into a pool of black smoking tar like blood. The masked woman yanked the blade from the demon's mouth and it began to round on her but she ducked under the back hand slicing across the back of both legs and the demon collapsed to its stomach.
The masked woman looked at his bleeding chest but The Sins just shook his head.
“It doesn’t matter.” It told her. “Find your sister. You are the only one who can stop her.”
The seconds ticked by while those in the forest listened intently to the dark sky. The first scream of a fight sounded off from the direction of the castle and all of their eyes snapped toward it. Still the woods stood in its eerie silence with only the sounds of crickets and…strangely the faintest hum from the stone sarcophagus.
“It’s begun,” Michael told the group as the small group of former demons formed up in a half circle behind him.
Standing slightly behind the group the blonde woman that led them here looked around with a perplexed expression on her face. The large Hispanic man glanced back and seeing the concerned look on her face he asked.
“You good?”
“It’s Arianhrod….” Lil explained.
“No.” Javier exclaimed firmly. “We have enough problems without her popping her head out.”
“That’s just it….” The blonde woman whispered and looked up at Javier. “She’s trying…something is stopping her….”
“That….” A deep calm voice called out into the darkness. “...would be me.”
Lord Lucifer stepped from between two trees. He was dressed in all white, a beautiful two-piece suit with a red handkerchief in his breast pocket. The snake bite piercings shimmered in the moonlight.
As he stepped into view the soft warning growl of two of the Hellhounds growled from each side of him as the two huge breasts stepped out of the treeline. The soft slowing sound of fabric on the wind caught their attention as another figure stepped out flanked by a pair of black vein-covered demons.
When Lucifer's eyes turned to Lily the small blonde woman cowered back only to have Michael and Javier step forward standing shoulder-to-shoulder between the two. Or, well shoulder to chest.
It wasn’t Michael’s fault that Javier was so fucking big after all.
When he saw them step between him and his quarry Lucifer raised a hand up in a “Get them” motion. Instantly the two hounds launched themselves at Javier only for one of them to be met with a thick tree branch to the side of the muzzle. Javier caught the other in midair by the throat and kept its snapping jaws in check.
This left Michael standing alone in front of Lil with one arm out behind him touching her side. Protective.
A guardian.
“Take him.”
Sariel’s eyes narrowed as the options went through her mind.
“You don’t have to do this Sara.”
And out came the katana from its sheath. Without a word, she moved with such swiftness that almost no one even saw her move and she brought the blade in a downward arch toward his face.
Seconds before it connects it is met by another smaller version causing sparks to briefly fly from where the two blades meet. Sariel’s eyes snapped to the side and she found herself looking into the face of a woman with brown hair wearing a mask that covered the bottom half of her face.
Before Sariel could react the woman launched into a series of attacks that Sariel blocked with each adjustment of her katana. Each strike was deflected with expert ease that made it appear like Sariel was simply playing with her.
When the two demons that had accompanied her moved to assist her a rapid series of loud pops erupted from two flashing spots in the darkness near the treeline. The short blonde-haired Silk walked out with a firearm in each hand firing.
The slugs slammed into the sides of the arm, torso, and neck of the two men closing in one Shadow. The two men each snapped their heads toward her and charged. She dropped into a slide siding between the legs of one and popped up as one hand reupholstered the weapon in one hand and used that hand to reload the other.
Lil flinched away from the gunshots putting her arms over her head and screamed.
“Come on! Come on! COME ON!”
The broken tree branch that had felled one of the dogs was now leaning broken on a tree beside the former demons and Javier turned and drove the great breast into it, driving the wooden object into its chest. Without pausing to consider the implications Javier turned to Lucifer and charged.
The big Hispanic man closed the distance quickly but as soon as he got within arms reach of the man in the immaculate suit he suddenly collapsed to his knees. The speed in which he had been moving and the suddenness of his stop caused his knees to slide across the dirt and grass leaving a trail 6 inches behind him.
Javier suddenly grasped, his hand digging into the dirt as his eyes bulged. Lucifer smiled, ignoring the battle happening all around them, and crouched.
“That…is pain.” The man purred. “Fascinating sensation isn’t it Perro?”
Javier looked up, his face now nearly purple and little bubbles and saliva forming at the corners of his mouth as he tried to force himself to breathe but the agony searing through his body was so foreign to him that it was ripping the air from his lungs.
“Did you think I didn’t know what you were?” Lucifer whispered. “Or where it came from? Your punishment? How all of my father's safeguards and secrets were congregating together?”
The well-manicured hands of the man in the suit suddenly curled into claws and Javier threw his head back with a soundless scream of agony. The battle continued on each side of them, with Sariel and the woman Shadow exchanging sword strikes and counter-strikes and Silk doing her best to use her speed and agility to keep herself away from the Demons while trying to render their limbs useless.
“I was just going to let you continue your pathetic little existence. Continue to suffer for all of eternity for your weakness but you just had to put yourself between us. So….”
Lucifer's eyes darkened and the lines of his face seemed to change. He looked less like Anton and more like someone knew. Evil beyond the meaning of the word…and yet Anton’s masculine features softened and became more feminine. Beautiful and horrifying.
“Now you can pay the price for your arrogance.”
“Leave him alone!” A male voice shouted and suddenly a knee took Lucifer in the side of the head.
Rivers landed next to him in a crouch but then his leg gave out and he collapsed to his side. He didn’t have the body strength anymore. Lucifer’s head snapped back to look at Michael and he brought his foot down hard slamming into Michael’s throat and pinning him down.
“Stay.”
He whispered and then slowly turned his attention back to Javier.
“Where were we?”
“You…”
Javier coughed, blood shooting from his mouth from how hard he had bitten his tongue.
Lucifer raised a brow at the word and raised his hand to cup behind his ear.
“Yes?”
Javier took a deep breath through his nose and his eyes narrowed. Setting his jaw he screamed.
“YOU TALK TOO MUCH!”
Javier threw himself up and slammed his forehead up into the bottom of Lucifer’s jaw. This was enough to stagger him slightly, only half a step but enough to get his foot off Michael’s throat. He was about to tell Javier how stupid that was when two screams sounded through the air and bright red flashes lit up the woods from behind Javier.
Lucifer looked up to find the two Demons now lying in the dirt and Silk staring at the little blonde woman in both shock and fear. She was no longer cowering, but her head was downcast, her eyes looking up through the wealth of blonde hair. A cruel twisted mischievous smile touched the edges of her mouth.
“Hello, Cousin.”
Beside her laid the Demons, each of them with long slashes across their torsos and throats. The strange cuts seemed to be glowing as if a fire burned inside them. Black and red sparked blood dripped from the blonde’s fingertips and the designs painted into her manicured fingernails were now glowing bright red.
Javier had broken Lucifer's focus....just long enough.
Arianhrod, the Arch Fae of Mischief and Deception.
River backed into her smithy with the hulking Demon stalking in behind her. She looked around and when the big Demon swung an arm for her she ducked under it, spinning around the anvil where she worked the steel and snatched the hammer as she did.
When the Demon came around the edge of the anvil and reached for her River brought her arm back in a backhand, but with the edge of the hammer. The huge hammer took the Demon across the face with a resounding CRACK.
River, who assumed that would be it was taken by surprise when the Demon didn’t go down but instead lunged at her. Two hands wrapped around her throat and she staggered backward her back hitting the edge of her still-lit forge.
The heat licked at the back of her smooth but muscled arms as the more powerful Demon arched her backward. The blondish brown hair swayed back with the very tips of it catching fire from where it touched the heated coals.
River screamed with effort and forced the arms off her neck, forcing the demon to the side and bringing its face down with another hard thud as it slammed into the coals. The Demon didn’t shriek as River shoved away with all her might sending it tumbling to the floor.
When the Demon began to get up again it turned its head back toward her and River looked at it with disgust when she saw the ruins that had once been its face. The skin was destroyed and blackened by the heat of the coals leaving its face a twisted melted monstrosity.
Breathing deep through her nose River brought the hammer down again and the weakened structure of the face caused the blow to drop the Demon motionless to the ground.
As River approached the door and leaned on the frame to get a breather she looked over in time to see Morgan trying to keep the female demon at a distance but she never saw the biggest of the Demons coming up behind her.
This one was bigger than even the Sins was, or Josie herself. Standing nearly seven feet tall and as thick as a tree trunk and he was palming a rock the size of Morgan's head.
River raised an arm to shout a warning when a figure suddenly stepped onto the hood of the car with the dented hood and jumped off. They landed on the demon's back, the only thing anyone could see behind its huge back was the large poofy curly blonde hair.
“DON’T YOU TOUCH HER!” A female voice screamed.
Morgan looked back to see Maya Kennedy on the huge man’s back and beating her tiny fist on the giant's shoulders and neck. Morgan flashed a smile, that was until the big man reached up and grasped Maya by the face and turned launching her into the side of the car.
Maya slammed into the metal head and shoulders first and slumped to the ground. Morgan screamed in concern and tried to scramble to her but she only got a few inches before her legs were grabbed by the female demon she was struggling with. The woman was trying to drive a piece of broken metal into her stomach and Morgan was holding it at bay.
Morgan gritted her teeth and watched as the huge booted feet crossed behind her head. Looking around confused Morgan, panting with effort saw the mountain of a demon standing over Maya as Maya raised her head and shook it to clear the cobwebs.
And then the boot slowly pressed into the side of her neck. Maya’s eyes bulged as she squirmed and struggled for a way out but wouldn’t get any leverage on the man. She looked at Morgan and the two locked eyes. Maya whispered, the fear leaking into her voice.
“Morgy?”
“No!” Morgan screamed as she struggled to get free. “MAYA! NO!”
Maya struggled, until with a loud CRUNCH…she went limp and her head dropped to the concrete eyes open and empty staring at Morgan.
“MAYA!” Morgan cried and fought to get free. “MAYA PLEASE!”
The giant turned its attention to Morgan and took a step toward her when three figures hit it simultaneously. The masked man and River and Jason Crawford, each of them pummeling him with blows but the best they could do was force him back away from Morgan.
Morgan eased up on the arms trying to hold the jagged metal at bay and she allowed it to inch upwards toward her tear-streaked face. When it got close enough Morgan screamed and brought her arms up full force driving the point of the back arching up, missing her face, and driving the point into the female demon’s eye.
Morgan then planted her boot into the woman’s chest and shoved sending her into the air where she landed on her back. Morgan flipped to her stomach and scrambled on all fours to Maya cradling her head in her arms.
“Maya wake up!” Morgan pleaded. “MAYA PLEASE WAKE UP!”
A body flew over the top of her and she looked up in time to see her husband-to-be Jason land face first in the windshield of the car and disappear through it half into the car where he lay unmoving.
Morgan let out a primal scream at the thought of losing Jason too. Even though she knew they wouldn’t work she pulled the Glock from her belt line behind her back and fired into the huge man's chest. She squeezed the trigger until it clicked….and clicked….and clicked….as she cried.
One of the rounds actually took the masked man in the back of the shoulder. His masked face snapped around in rage to look at her.
“FRIENDLY FIRE GOD DAMMIT!” The familiar voice shouted as black blood ran down his back. When he saw the empty look in her eyes and the traumatized expression he shouted. “SOMEONE GET HER!”
Suddenly a blonde figure appeared and Abigail’s face appeared in Morgan’s blurry vision. She was bleeding from a couple of cuts to her lip and eyebrow but she was overall okay.
“Come on Morgy…” She whispered.
“Maya….” Morgan whispered, her hand shaking so bad the glock dropped from her numb fingers.
“I know baby.” Abigail assured her. “We are regrouping in the house.”
“Is it…bad?” Morgan asked as she walked toward the house with one arm around Abigail’s shoulder.
Abigail looked around and saw the masked man struggling with three hounds and bleeding from a dozen places. Lluvia was back into it with blood running down the side of her face. Jasmine was fighting a demon beside her blood staining her blonde hair. River assisted Jason off the hood who stood on wobbly legs but with only a couple of scratches. Maiko, Hana, and Ashley were fighting Remiel, Josie, and a small group of Demons, all of them were bloody with Maiko’s face paint all but smeared with bright crimson blood.
“Yeah…” Abigail couldn’t lie to her. “I don’t think….we can hold the house baby.”
“Tha castle has never….fallen” Morgan said indignantly. “Dis is our home!”
Morgan went to turn and return to the fighting when Abigail grasped her hand. She turned and looked back at her girlfriend's bloody face.
“Home…is wherever WE are Morgan,” Abigail told her. “Alive…and together.”
Morgan finally relented and allowed Abigail to lead her into the castle and through it to the garage where she stopped dead in her tracks. The whole garage was filled with people, Stephe’s entire racing crew was inside, all of their cars and bikes had been discreetly moved to all face the huge double doors of the large garage.
But the shocker was the tiny woman who was coming down a ladder on the far side of the door. She was wearing a pair of leggings, high topped sneakers and a half top that showed off her flat stomach.
Even with the welders hood over her face Morgan knew her.
“Risa?!” Morgan gasped.
The woman lifted the hood and a smile lit up her face.
“My friends needed me so I came.”
Morgan was about to embrace her friend when the door slammed open with such force it bounced off the steel foundation. In ran Javier who was carrying a bundled-up woman none of them knew.
Michael walked in behind them leaning heavily on his cane, a bleeding sword cut on his cheek up his jawline into his scalp. He was force-marching Lilith, who was yelling incoherently and beating her fists weakly off his chest, inside.
Behind them, Silk walked in with a heavily limping Shadow leaning heavily on her. A blood-stained shirt was wrapped around her thigh. Whose shirt was it? Well John, now shirtless walked in behind them.
“It’s done,” Michael told Morgan. “Morgan….Danika….”
Morgan stared in shock at the blonde woman lying weakly in Javier’s arms. She knew the name. Dean’s first wife who had betrayed him. Lucifer’s original Harbinger. The co-founder of the children of Nephilim.
Danika Bayne.
Lucifer turned his eyes toward the blonde woman standing behind Javier. She was no longer Lilith Meadows, but a Fae force that had inhabited her a couple of years before. A force that had come to trust, even care about Lilith and Lilith’s family.
A force born for Mischief and destruction that had chosen a new path.
The Protector of the tiny blonde girl who had devoted herself to the betterment of others.
She charged at Lucifer, Her fingers curling into deadly claws, and swiped upwards. As she did the nails left a trail of ashe and red glowing embers in their wake. Lucifer moved first one way and then the other, each strike sailing wide. She brought both arms forward aiming the claws at him and he arched his back away, grabbing her wrists but she yanked her arms outwards out of his grasp in a slash.
Lucifer spun around her, his foot lashing out and connecting with Javier’s face as he began to get to his feet. Arianhrod spun around, the claws flashing out and taking Lucifer across the chest. The fabric of the suit singed and he looked down in shock and outrage at the realization of how the Demons were now dead and the fact that he was actually in danger.
“SARIEL!” Lucifer commanded.
Sariel was going back and forth with the masked woman and when Lucifer yelled her name the elegant woman, spun around Shadow’s counterstrike and brought her sword around her, pointing it backward down near the hip Shadow suddenly gasped as 3 inches of the blade sank into her thigh.
Sariel ripped outwards with the blade arching up and coming within inches of Arianhrod’s face. The blonde woman was forced to step back as Sariel came for her full force. She met the slashes with strikes from her strangely glowing fingernails, sparks, and embers exploding from where the blade and nails met.
Sariel shifted the block into a hard forward slash that Arianhrod ducked under and slid across the leaves and grass, planted her hands into the ground, and literally cartwheeled back to her feet. Sariel came in behind her and she turned slashing out her fingernails but missed as Sariel spun around her and flashed out a strike for Arianhrod’s head.
Arianhrod leaned into a backbend that caused the strike to sail over her, planted her hands into the dirt, and kicked her feet up into a backbend handspring that slammed her toes into the charging Sariel’s mouth.
Michael took this moment to charge at Lucifer while he was focused on Sariel dealing with Arianhrod, but Sariel was in full defender mode, and as soon as he got within range of Lucifer blood exploded from his face as Sariel’s sword strike took him from cheek to hairline, missing his eye by inches.
And then Arianhrod was on her. Both legs landed on Sariel’s shoulders and when Sariel brought her arm up for a sword strike the glowing fingernail's hand closed around her wrist stopping it in place.
“You haven’t absorbed enough yet,” Arianhrod told her and then flipped backward launching Sariel into a tree.
At that exact moment as Arianhrod landed in a crouch a bright flash of white light lit up the whole forest. It only lasted a fraction of a second before it faded back to the normal darkness. Michael looked up as John and the other former demons pushed the sarcophagus lid back and pulled out a weakly struggling body from inside.
“Javier….” Michael gasped.
The huge Hispanic man nodded and scrambled to his feet to take the girl from their arms. As he did, a suddenly horrified scream broke the silence of the night.
“WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO ME?!” Lilith screamed.
“Everyone get back to the house,” Michael yelled, cradling his bloody face.
John had removed his shirt and wrapped it around the profusely bleeding thigh of the mask-wearing woman who was being tended to by Silk. Collectively they all headed for the house and when Sariel got to her feet to give chase Lucifer raised a hand.
“Leave them,” Lucifer commanded. “The Demons and Hounds will tend to them. See to the Sarcophagus.”
“Thy will be done,” Sariel answered and pushed her blade back into its sheath.
“It’s done,” Michael told Morgan. “Morgan….Danika….”
Morgan stood staring in open-mouthed shock. Before she could speak however on the other side of the room, Jasmine ran in panting with most of the others behind her. The masked man stopped at the doorway and his eyes fell on the bundled-up woman in Javier's arms. Their eyes met and for the first time there was no fear in the soft blue eyes.
She recognized him.
Jasmine’s blood-covered face appeared in the doorway looking over the group. All of them looked beaten and more than a little broken. They would all fight, she knew that. They would fight for their home…she couldn’t allow that.
“We have to go….” Jasmine announced.
Lluvia looked over at her newly returned wife and let out a deep sigh but ultimately nodded.
“I will get everyone out of the Bunker….all of you get ready,” Jasmine told them. “Riv? Jav? Block the doors.”
Javier and River went to work blocking the doors with large toolcases and anything they could move while Jasmine moved toward the back of the garage. On the back wall, she touched a panel near a shelf covered in tools. As she pressed her hand to a small square beside the case steps announced someone fell in line behind her and she looked up to find Jason’s scratched-up face.
“There’s been another door in the garage the whole time?!”
“There are more ways into the Bunker than any of you are aware.” She told him.
The wall slides backward while the others all set about to prepare the cars. As the two make their way down the downward-slopping hallway the large room behind them filled with the loud sounds of dozens of hands banging on the doors trying to force them open. Of heavy bodies slamming into the walls with loud, inhuman animal snarls.
The two moved down the hallway for a few hundred feet before the metal hall opened up into a huge structure filled with dozens of rooms. The groups of people’s concerns and voices caused each of them to look at one another and break into a run.
They barged into a room at the end of the hallway where all of those who didn’t fight were congregated. The room was big with a wall of monitors that showed various locations inside the house and throughout the compound. All of them showed the wreckage of what had once been their home.
Jessie, the children, Carlisle, Delilah, and others were gathered around Mary who was staring at the multiple screens. She was pale white and was sitting completely still.
“We have to go!” Delilah cried. “Why won’t she talk?!”
“You saw what happened Del.” Carlisle said softly from where he was crouching facing away from Jasmine and Jason.
Jasmine looked over at Jason and it was like he knew. The particular screen Mary was looking at showed the driveway and the car the dog had hit.
The car Jason had hit.
He crossed the room and crouched on the other side of her touching her face.
“I’m here baby.”
Jason told her.
It took Mary a few seconds to realize whose voice she was hearing and once she did she latched her arms around his neck and buried her face in his neck crying. Jason wrapped an arm around her waist and he felt a hand touch his shoulder in a gentle pat. He glanced over to find a relieved Carlisle smiling at him.
“Good to see you alive brother.”
Jason reached up and patted Carlisle’s hand.
“We gotta go…”
A voice suddenly carried down from the hallway in a loud panicked scream.
“THE DOORS WON’T HOLD!”
Jason picked Mary up and she wrapped her legs around his waist and the group started rushing back up the hall. When they reached the door a soft voice called out.
“Hold on…I forgot something…”
The voice was drowned out by the shouting of those in the garage and the banging on the doors that were beginning to cave in. Mary had finally begun to unwind herself from Jason when she saw all the cars, trucks, and bikes and the people all rushing toward them.
Michael was leaning into the opened passenger door of a black Trans AM designed to resemble K.I.T.T. The car of Ashley Kenyon.
“You don’t stop,” Michael ordered. “For anything. You get her there safely.”
Mary looked around and when she heard Michael and the meaning behind it reached her fogged brain she shook her head to clear the cobwebs.
“I’ll take Jason with Serah and the Royals in mine.” She told Michael. “Me and Ashley out in front.”
Michael looked back at her with his hand on the roof of the Trans AM and looked at the scared teenagers. A softness entered his eyes and he nodded.
“You and Ashley out front.” He agreed. “You don’t stop for anything. No matter what you hear or what you see behind you. You get those children to safety”
Mary nodded and walked past the group as she walked toward her car. When she reached Michael she turned and looked into his eyes. Her face was set and angry.
“Our life was safe and happy before you got here. You did this.” She warned him. “And I will not forget it.”
“...go.”
Mary climbed into the driver's seat of her Supra while the Royals climbed into the back and Jason into the passenger seat with Serah. Michael slammed the door on the Trans AM with Ashley, Maiko, and the bundled blonde shaking woman inside.
Michael looked at the masked man and then over at a sledgehammer Risa had placed next to the door.
“45 seconds.”
He said before he climbed into the passenger seat of a plain white van. Moe climbed up into the driver's seat of her truck with River while Risa got into her Ferrari with Lluvia in the passenger seat.
The others loaded into the various vans, with the dogs and animals while Jasmine, Steph, and Morgan climbed on their bikes.
Collectively a room full of engines roared to life. Michael leaned out of the passenger window of the van.
“Road Crew!” He shouted over the engines. “Peel off the second we are off the property and thank you for your help!”
BANG!
A loud steel on steel sounded as the masked man slammed the sledgehammer into the center point of the door. The work Risa had done locked the center of the door while weakening each of the hinges and when the outward force of the blow struck the doors didn’t open.
The doors, both of them fell outwards landing in a ramp of sorts.

Civil War 2
Chapter 11
“Hold the line”
Location: The Kingdom Compound - Main House
Date: November 12th
Time: 6:35 PM

“Build your walls, fortify, hold your enemy lines. Lock and load or bug out…but you won’t slow us down.”
