It was an awful night for Logan. His day at work wasn't at all good, his wrestling show took an awful turn (at least to him, considering his favorite wrestler got choked out), and his playing NCAA Football 14 went worse than work. He started angry, then he got sad when his escapes from work made him want to go back to work. That's how he's come to bed: sad and extremely lowly.
Faye's day, while nothing special in the grand scheme, saw her finding a job that actually pays money (as she still isn't getting royalties from her music, as if that would change with her effectively moving) that she now just awaits a call-back for. It's actually at the same place where Logan works, though for a different function in the same department Logan's in which pays less. That means less on the Intrepid's gas bill, since Faye can carpool with Logan and vice-versa. She hasn't told him this yet, though. How could she? She's seen what Logan's gone through tonight, and while he's been accepting and highly encouraging of her thus far, she's also not seen him this way before.
Logan lies in bed, practically ready to shed tears of frustration. He's in nothing but his underwear, which thankfully leaves a lot to the imagination. Faye brushes her teeth, while wearing a plain white shirt that's two sizes too big for her, and pajamas with Superman logos on them. There are holes here and there in those pajamas, mainly because they're clearly hand-me-downs. But Faye fits in them, and it's not like she's going out in them or anything, so why not? Faye rinses off her toothbrush, before putting the brush guard on and crawling into bed beside her boyfriend. Immediately, she wraps an arm around him, places her chin on his shoulder and looks into his eyes as best as she can.
Faye Brown: "You gonna be OK?"
Logan could only groan a bit in response.
Faye Brown: "Hey, tonight's not the end of the world or anything. So your girl lost a title match... and so your team lost to West Virginia. She'll get back to challenging for that title sooner than later, if wrestling still works how I remember it working. And you'll get back on the right track with your Roundabouts by the very next game. I'm sure of it."
Logan Bailey: "But it was all so incredibly stupid in how it all went down..."
Faye Brown: "I know, you couldn't stop telling me... and I agreed with you. But tonight's done. You've taken your melatonin. Tomorrow's a new day."
Logan Bailey: "Mm-hm..."
Logan's tone was still rather somber, prompting Faye to wrap her hand around his. There's a brief silent moment, until Faye speaks again.
Faye Brown: "I applied at where you work. The position I applied for doesn't pay as much as yours, but I figured work wouldn't be as bad for you if I were there with you. From what you've told me since getting here, it sounds like you need, and kinda really want, some kind of real partner in crime there."
Logan turned his head a little. His eyes were a little lifted.
Logan Bailey: "R--really?"
Faye smiled at him with a sweetness that would put sugar to shame. She rubs a thumb over the top of Logan's hand that she's kept wrapped.
Faye Brown: "I did. All I need is the call back from them and it's official."
Logan Bailey: "Y--you're doing... you're doing that for me?"
Faye Brown: "I am."
Logan chuckles a bit out of amazement. He's not had someone go out of their way to do something as major as apply for a job just for him.
Logan Bailey: "Well, that's some really good news..."
Faye Brown: "I figured you could use at least a little good news after today..."
Faye sits up, releasing Logan from her cuddle. Her legs straighten out. On instinct, Logan rests his head on Faye's lap, facing away from her. She finds the TV remote and turns on the YouTube app, finding some old Twitch streams so Logan would fall asleep. Faye strokes her fingers through his hair lovingly.
Faye Brown: "How long's it been since you showered? Your hair's greasy."
Already, Logan’s yawning. Faye knew this would do the trick, but she didn’t think it’d work this fast. Today must have really tired him out or something.
Logan Bailey: "Since Saturday..."
Faye Brown: "Shower in the morning for me, OK? I'll start the laundry in the meantime."
Logan Bailey: "Saus-gooh-t'me..."
Faye Brown: “And once I get that call-back, I’ll be with you every step of the way that you take. Maybe with me there with you, days like this will be fewer and farther between. It’s the least I could do for you after what you did for me…”
But with his slurred words, Logan seems to already be asleep... until out of nowhere...
Logan Bailey: "Love you."
Faye was a little taken aback, not fully sure if he was even conscious, but she took no time to tell him back.
Faye Brown: "I love you, too."
It's one o'clock in the afternoon. It's bright and sunny out, a beautiful day to go outside and do some lawn work or wash a car or just play some golf with some buddies (as long as you stay safe doing so) or something. If you're a kid and you can't go to school, today's a good day to go outside, play some sports (safely), or read a book. It's a day where you can really breathe and smell that autumn is near, and that it may very well be a good harvest year. Both Logan and Faye are asleep. This is a day off for the former, thankfully. Usually, he has to go in to work at nine in the morning. Of course, he's the first one to open his eyes. He looks around to gather his bearings and surroundings, which despite having 110 pounds of dead weight wrapped around him, isn't difficult. He hears the videos he and Faye had decided on to sleep to: a Sonic Heroes playthrough by a few goofs.
Logan Bailey: "I really don't want to get up today..."
Therefore, he hugs the still sleeping Faye a little tighter, nuzzling the side of her head. They both went through a lot of emotions yesterday, between the passing of one of Faye's heroes in Eddie Van Halen, and Logan simply just having a breakdown after a few minutes talking about wrestling. They both cried yesterday. They both were in a low mood due to circumstances out of their control. Shit did indeed happen yesterday. But today is a new day and they both have to cope with the fact that nothing they'll do can change the past couple of days. Logan grabs the remote and stops the video in its tracks, before grabbing his phone and catching up on Facebook. Nothing out of the ordinary, really. Mostly self-deprecating memes and political commentary from people who lean republican. Logan squints his eyes a little looking at the latter, while the former usually gets a light chuckle out of him. So light that Faye doesn't even move. Logan spots the time, finally seeing that it's one, which immediately prompts him to try and wake up his girlfriend.
Logan Bailey: "Babe?"
Faye still doesn't move. She must be out like a light, especially for being the non-melatonin user of the two. Logan lightly nudges his girlfriend, and that does the trick. Faye raises her head and blinks her sleepy eyes a few times before looking around and gathering her bearings.
Faye Brown: "Hm? Oh... hey there..."
Logan Bailey: "Hey... it's one."
Faye Brown: "Damn..."
Faye shuffles off of Logan, as she rubs the sleep out of her eyes. She reaches for her glasses that rest on the right nightstand, closing her eyes as she puts them on.
Faye Brown: "When did you get up...?"
There's a brief moment of silence.
Logan Bailey: "Ah... o--one. Like, I'm literally just now getting up myself."
Faye's eyes widen a little.
Faye Brown: "Iiiii see..."
She lets out a yawn into her arm before rubbing her eyes again.
Logan Bailey: "Ah, don't do..."
Logan also lets out a yawn, though it's far uglier than Faye's.
Logan Bailey: "Don't do that, that shit's contagious."
Faye can't help but let out a little chuckle as she gets out of bed. She reveals an oversized white shirt, and those same Superman pajamas that used to be Logan's dad's. They might as well be Faye's house wear now, though.
Faye Brown: "I'm gonna go make some bacon, you want some?"
Without hesitation, Logan blurts out...
Logan Bailey: "Is the sky blue? Absolutely."
Such is one of the several general processes of a normal day off for these two.
