Adrianna Salvatore's Hotel Room
Camera: OFF
To say the passed week was shitty was an understatement. Between March Misery and the show the week prior, Adrianna had been left an emotional wreck. Mia had woken up from her injuries only to be in an essential catatonic state. She refused to talk to anybody. Not even the doctors when they came to ask how she was feeling. The next day, she was gone and Adrianna didn't hear anything from her aside from that ominous message on social media.
This is all I have to say. I'm physically alright. My injuries will heal. Emotionally I'm broken. My contract expires next month and I'm not sure I'll re-sign.
Adrianna didn't know how to feel, reading it. Sad, obviously. Scared? Oh yeah. Scared that she would lose Mia. Part of her was even a little angry. Would Mia leave them like that? Her friends? Her friends that cared about her? Would she really leave her? It was something Adrianna didn't want to think about, as she lit up a cigarette on the balcony of her hotel room. Her wet hair hung over her shoulders, fresh out of the shower and changed into a comfortable pair of sweat pants and a black Danzig tanktop. She dragged heavily on the menthol cigarette as she thumbed through her twitter app. This damn thing had become like a fucking cesspool, it seemed. Between Lara and Ethan from the Dominion of Pain and Tyson from the Renegades running their mouths, it gave her a headache just to have to read it. To make matters worse, Lara actually got the better of her last night at March Misery. Jay must have been right. She wasn't focused enough to get the job done. How hard could the task actually have been? Beat that little snot nosed bitch's ass and keep her from grabbing the briefcase. Damned if she, herself, grabbed it instead or not. Adrianna never wanted the damn thing. She didn't care about it. Then again, maybe she should have. In order to simply ruin Lara's night and keep her from becoming one step closer to being "Queen" of NFW, Adrianna began to think maybe she should have tried to grab it. Not only would it have prevented Lara but...oh how sweet it would have been if that little bitch would have had to challenge her in a singles match to get that case.
Instead, here she was, sitting at the hotel, having to come up with a new plan. A fresh little cut on her head for her troubles after Lara's girls turned the six person ladder match into an essential six on four street fight. Well no...five. Shelley obviously wasted no time in hitting the ring and getting involved when it counted. It certainly turned the tides a little. Adrianna had to hand it to Lara's girls. They were focused. Calculated. They operated like they had a pre-planned strategy the moment they hit that ring and started leaving bodies around ringside. Shelley Silver showing up, after already having wrestled a match, earlier, certainly threw a wrench in the gears. But goddamn it, Lara still managed to get her way, that bitch. So Lara left with a contract to Alex Brody's Women's Championship anytime she wanted - it was obvious she was going to exploit the advantage - and Adrianna, herself, left with a bandage over her head. One she wasn't wearing now, as the bleeding had stopped.
That thought automatically made her mind drift back to another matter. Angel.... This week made two of her stable mates that ended up in the hospital. Not on account of Lara, this time, but still all the same. Mia had gone home and Angel had been told she had to stay for a couple of days to monitor her injuries from a match that Adrianna, honestly, wondered how the hell was even allowed to happen. She knew Steven Brody and Savannah Hayes called the shots in the company, but there had to be the additional matter of safety precautions, waivers, talking to their broadcasting network. For sure, children watched their broadcasts. What would parents think of their little ones having to watch such an utterly brutal and disgusting match? Not that Adrianna gave a damn, personally. Power to Angel Kusanagi, her little Japanese loon of a friend for requesting it. Adrianna had been through similar hell on the independent circuit. Not a Tai Pei Wicker Man Death Match but she'd been thrown into barbwire, dropped onto thumbtacks and smashed over the head with flourescent light tubes. How the hell was she not a scarred mess, she wondered? Guess I just heal good.
Still, in the end, they were two members down. There were only three left standing in The Unwanted but there was only so much Adam and Jay could do given the limitations. Techically, yes, there were psuedo-intergender rules but with certain restrictions, and it wasn't like any of Sex & Violence were getting into the mixed tag team division or going for the Silver Mountain Championship. That meant that...it's just me, now.... It was a sobering feeling, really. She didn't know how long Angel was going to be out. At least a week or two, maybe more. And Mia? Adrianna sighed. Her contract was up at the end of this month, as she had mentioned. Adrianna was waging a war on four women for someone that probably wasn't even going to stick around to see how it played out. It hurt, honestly. But she was still going to do it. She was going to do it because of Mia and how much she cared. The more Adrianna thought about it, however, she realized she wasn't really alone. What a silly thought. She knew others would side with her against Sex & Violence. Erin. Alex, for sure. Kimi. Maybe even Candi? And Shelley. Definitely Shelley. Shelley. Thinking of the woman again made Adrianna laugh softly in disbelief as she tapped into her 'Notifications' on Twitter and read the short exchange she had with her.
@shelleyraindrop I'm gonna go visit @kusanagi_nfw at the hospital. Feel like coming along?
Yes, please.
...Be mine tonight?
Yes, please.
...Be mine tonight?
You know what? Sure.
Adrianna found herself chuckling in disbelief and felt a warmth in her cheeks as she recounted the previous night, following the show. It started out as she'd told Shelley it would. The two met at the hospital to visit Angel, once the woman was done being treated and moved to a room. The Japanese woman had been more angry about being cheated out of winning her first title than the fact that she needed a blood transfusion and was wrapped up, practically like a mummy due to all of the cuts on her body. It was a short visit. Angel was, understandably, not really in the mood for company. After they left, Adrianna and Shelley spent the rest of the night up in Shelley's suite room, entangled in the sheets. It was a release that Adrianna didn't know she needed until she'd gotten it. Jesus, that woman knows how to get someone off. She found herself thinking about the one who had initially been brought into NFW, a year ago, to take her out. The woman whom first challenged her for the Women's Championship when she still had it. It was almost a short reign, too. Shelley was one tough bitch. Adrianna was glad to have her on her side, now. She was going to need people like her in what she could only think of as a war coming. An idea came to her. Adrianna stuck the cigarette in her mouth, taking a drag as she opened up the Notepad app on her Apple device. She began making a list. A list of people she felt she could trust to help her bring Sex & Violence down. First, she tapped in the obvious name, followed by those who immediately came to mind.
Shelley Silver
Alex Brody
Erin Mercer
Angel Kusanagi
She'd be back before too long.
Candi Broduer
Kimi Smalls
Adrianna's thumb hesitated as soon as she finished typing in the name. Oh, sweetie, I don't wanna get you involved in this. Kimi was such a sweet girl and had just barely set foot into NFW. She didn't need to be involved in a war like this. But she was Shelley's friend and Adrianna had a feeling she wouldn't take no for an answer. Adrianna sighed. Gonna make sure you don't get hurt, baby girl. That seemed like almost it, unless.... Kennedy? Adrianna thought. She hardly even knew the girl. Hadn't even faced her in the ring, ever. The poor thing didn't exactly have a glorious record as far as wins and losses went. Maybe this would help, though. Light a fire under her feet so that she would go on a tear. Adrianna looked over the list. That was pretty much everyone she could think of, that would probably help. Granted she didn't expect to rally up all of them at once. They all had their goals in the company. But those goals would be jeapordized by Sex & Violence if they weren't stopped. She knew the type of group they were. She knew it because...she used to be like them. Only concerned about herself and her immediate own. It was what brought her to NFW with the Circle of Snakes. The idea of career success at the expense of anybody who got in their goddamn way. But they had slipped up and ended up angering the Dominion of Pain. Now, here it was, it felt like the tables were flipped. Lara Blackheart was the cocky leader with her crew of soldiers, looking to take over NFW. Only, they had made one mistake. You just pissed off The Unwanted. Adrianna told herself, smiling a little darkly as she dragged on her cigarette again. How ironic was that? The tables had indeed turned. With all of the names on her list, combined, they almost matched the entire Dominion in terms of strength. Herself included, they numbered eight to the Dominion of Pain's ten. They matched them exactly if she factored in Jay and Adam. Adrianna realized, then, that with some of the names she put down, more would be involved. She tapped away again, adding more.
Kyle Smalls
He wasn't going to let his sister do this without him.
Vincent Stone
He had Tyler Grey to worry about in April, but Adrianna knew he had Erin's back.
Max LeBrun
He wasn't going to let Candi go it without him. That man absolutely loved and adored that woman with every fiber of his being. And getting Kennedy Campbell involved meant....
Scott Leroux
Pitt
William Mannheim
Piso
Rick Dickulous
Adrianna gazed over the long list with an amused smirk playing on her face. She added in Chris Wolfe. How could she forget him? She knew her boy had her back. Two more names came to mind as Adrianna read over it, again. She hadn't missed the filmed promo during March Misery of LeeAnn Viskan saying they shouldn't get involved unless forced to. As much as Adrianna hated to think of dragging more people into a fight that they didn't really want, she knew it was going to happen. Sex & Violence was a cohesive unit. But within them, there was Nostalgia Ultra. A tag team unit. It was a fight that was inevitably going to happen. You girls are gonna get dragged into it eventually. With Lara and Penelope behind TyAnna and Futura, it'd be four on two. No. Adrianna wasn't going to let that happen. She tapped in those two names that came to mind.
Marissa Payne
Morgan Payne
Adrianna moved her thumb away from the screen. She knew LeeAnn would fight too, if forced to. But she had a feeling that her history with the Dominion of Pain would offer her more reprieve than the others. Once Dominion, always Dominion. That was their motto, in a sense. Still, Adrianna saw the numbers flip over to her favor now. You bitches. Are so. Fucked. She thought, saving the list and tapping out of the Notepad app. Things were suddenly feeling like they were looking up. She would get started on this, first thing in the morning. Hesitantly, she went back into the Twitter app. She was careful not to look at anything that any of Sex & Violence were saying. Specifically, Lara. She would probably just throw another jab at her about Mia and it would piss her right off again. That seemed to be how their little 'game' was going. Adrianna would start feeling fired up. Feeling confident and good about herself in this battle. Lara would almost sense this, she swore, and add in a jab about what happened to Mia or where she was right now and Adrianna's state of mind would come crashing right back under the Earth. So, no, she didn't need to see this shit now. She wasn't going to stay off social media. She wasn't going to delete social media, even though she felt like the most antisocial member of the women's roster next to Angel. She just needed to mind what she did on there. Right now, her thoughts were on Mia. How would she feel, knowing that her manic angered admirer was putting together an essential hit squad to avenge her? A literal gang of wrestlers that, she hoped, would all say 'yes' and take it to Sex & Violence. She needed to know. I could tell her. Adrianna thought, backing out of the twitter app and opening up her Contacts. She typed the word 'Mouse' into the search bar and Mia's number came up. Adrianna tapped 'Call' and brought the phone to her ear. It rang...and rang...and rang. She knew Mia probably wasn't going to pick up but there was still that hope.
"Hi, you've reached Mia. I'm not here right now, but if you leave a message, I'll call ya back.... whenever the hell I feel like it! BAIIIII!"
Adrianna stifled a chuckle. She loved her voicemail message. You fucking goofball. She thought, as she listened for the beep, leaving her message once it came.
"Hey, Mouse. It's me, again." She sighed. "Sorry to keep blowing up your phone, like this. I'm just worried is all. But I've got some good news. I did a little bit of planning and...I think this is gonna happen. Everybody is so shaken up with what happened. I think I have people willing to fight. Willing to take them on! We even outnumber them, Mouse!" There was hope and excitement in her voice. "I know you probably don't want us to bother but...we're going to. I'm going to. I'm going to because I can't sit by and let what happened to you go unpunished." Another sigh escaped from her. She dragged on her cigarette that was almost out, now. "I don't know if you watched last night's event. I don't blame you if you didn't. But I tried to stop them then. I tried to stop Lara. I failed. I failed because I wasn't focused enough. I just feel so lost right now. Everything's blurry. I'm messed up in my mind right now and...." Adrianna couldn't stop her voice from cracking. Her eyes began to burn with incoming tears. "I miss you." She felt the tears begin creeping down her face. "I miss you so much and I don't want you to go!" Her hand with the cigarette began shaking with her trembling voice. "You can't go. You can't go because...I need you. I need you, Mouse. Mia. I need you here." Adrianna stifled a sob, wiping her eyes carefully with the thumb of her cigarette hand. "I need you because I can't do this alone. Not without you. You're the one who keeps me grounded. You're the one who made me start to see things for how they were with Abaddon. You're the one who made me start to feel like I could be myself again and I don't wanna lose that. I don't wanna lose you! I love you, Mia. I love you. I didn't wanna say it because I know how you feel about our relationship and I know how you feel about Lara." She closed her eyes, trying to gain control of herself. "But I can't keep it back anymore. I don't expect you to love me back in the same way - god knows I want you to - but I can't force that. But I'm begging you. I'm begging you, Mia. Please, don't go. Come back to us. Come back to me. I need my Mouse, again. My silly, crazy, funny, beautiful little, Mouse. Please...." The voice recorder stopped. She must have run out of time. Adrianna listened to the automated voice listing the options back. She could Send, Re-Record or Delete the voicemail. Her thumb hovered over the number pad. She stared at it, surprised at herself that she even opened up the way she did. If she sent the message, Mia would know. She would know that, truthfully, Adrianna didn't just think of her as a piece of meat. Not that she expected Mia to change her tune and be hers. The realization that that was probably not going to be the outcome stung inside of her heart. But Mia needed to know. She needed to know how much everyone cared and missed her. With that, Adrianna tapped the button to send the voicemail. A heavy exhale escaped her as she did, realizing that this could either change or break things.
Adrianna snuffed out her cigarette beside her, on the concrete balcony floor and opened up her Photo album. She scrolled down to and opened up a saved image on her phone of Mia. It had been a selfie she sent her awhile back. The one time that she had gotten up and ready before Adrianna had, for a meet and greet. She remembered the text, too.
Wake up, badass! We gotta go sign our names and take pics with motherfuckers! How's my selfie game?
Adrianna wiped her eyes, composing herself more as she looked at the image of Mia smiling back at her. Sweetness and mischief both at the same time. It was what made her love her smile. She only hoped that she would get to see it again.
