Tokyo, Japan
Camera: OFF
It was a surreal feeling. Knowing that your entire life was about to make a drastic change. Everything around you was going to be different. The places. The sights. The smells. The people. Was she going to miss home? Sure. They all were. But this was the opportunity that they wanted. And man, did that contract pitch sound sweet. A one year deal to get their feet wet and see how they liked it. After that, they could extend or say their goodbyes. Full medical coverage in case of injury. But most of all, the chance to be who they wanted to be on camera and inside the ring. None of that crap you heard about with some other promotions where they looked at you and decided what your 'character' was going to be in front of an audience. They'd gotten offers like that before New Frontier Wrestling's talent scouts approached them. One of them was downright laughable. They could keep their name but there was the matter of - 'So you coined the moniker for yourselves in school, right? A school girl gig would be perfect! You three could wear the uniforms, pop bubblegum. The American audiences will love it! They're really into that for some reason!' Leave it up to an American based promotion to contradict that mindset and tell them to just bring their name and themselves. It definitely made an excitement build in the pit of your stomach. Staring out the passenger window of the car, everything in Tokyo was going by in a blur. It wouldn't be long before it would be seen drifting away from the window of an airplane.Tokyo, Japan

"Yo! Sis!" The voice jarred Yuka Hirata from her thoughts. She snapped out of her daydream and looked over in the driver's seat where her identical twin brother was at the wheel of his car. She always forgot what the model was called. Something foreign. Bu...ghazi? Bugetti? She didn't know. It was one of those expensive ones. Like really expensive. "You alive over there?" Her brother, Katsu asked with an amused grin on his features.
"Huh? Yeah!" She assured him, shifting in her seat to face forward more rather than being turned slightly to the side and staring out the window. "Sorry. I was just realizing."
"What's that?" Katsu asked as he lit up a cigarette between his lips with a flashy looking zippo lighter.
Yuka shook her head. "Nothing, really. I guess it's just funny, is all. I used to make fun of people who packed everything up and left home for the sake of a job. Now look at me. Just out of high school last year and I'm doing that exact thing."
"Funny how things work out, huh?" He took a drag on his cigarette and cracked his window to pull the smoke out. "Hey but you're gonna be a star! Big time wrestler on international TV and shit."
"Nii-san! Don't make fun!" Yuka frowned and gave her brother a light slap in the shoulder.
Katsu laughed and drew back from the slap as best he could without making the car jerk. "I'm not! Really! Shit, I'm actually proud of you. You've always loved wrestling."
"We've always loved wrestling." Yuka corrected him. "You love it too! I don't know why you don't watch it anymore."
"I do watch it!" Katsu said in his own defense. He shrugged a little and added, "When I can, anyway."
"When you're not playing underworld criminal, you mean?" Yuka dropped her smile and raised an eyebrow. Katsu called it their Dad's look. It was a look their father gave when he wasn't fooled by a lie or an excuse. They both got it from him as kids, and they both ended up inheriting it.
"Hey, c'mon now." Katsu said, glancing sideways at her. "You make your money your way, I make mine my way. Lay off. Besides, you know some of the guys. They aren't that bad."
"I can count on my fingers how many I know out of the hundreds that work just for your boss alone. And you're best friends with the grandson of the Chairman of the Kuroryu Kai."
Katsu rolled his eyes. "You mean we grew up with him. Ko's your friend, too. And why you ragging on him, all of a sudden?"
"I'm not." Yuka shook her head and sighed. "Sorry. I just worry about you. It's not exactly glamorous work and Dad sure isn't happy about it. Especially considering his work involves protecting the Imperial Family."
Katsu snickered with his cigarette in his mouth. "You think they ask him about us? The Emperor and Empress? 'So, Hirata-san, how are the kids?'" Katsu switched his voice over to the best impersonation of their father. Deep and firm as he could go. "'Oh, they're just fine, thank you. One's a pro wrestler, the other's a Yakuza!"
Yuka laughed so hard she snorted. The sound caused her to cover her mouth and laugh harder. "You do him so well!" She turned sideways in her seat again. This time facing her brother. She pouted sadly and reached out, bopping Katsu in the shoulder with her fist. "Nii-saaaan...I'm gonna miss you so much!"
"And I'm gonna miss you. Crazy ass." Katsu said, going serious for a minute. "I'm gonna miss all three of you! Kay-chan and the cute ball of energy she is. Masami and her booty." He craned his head to the side and slowly smiled like he was daydreaming until Yuka hit him again. "Oh, you are such a pig, sometimes!" They both laughed. "If you like her so much, how come you never asked her out?"
Katsu shook his head. "She's got her career to think about. Like you. And how would it make her look in the eyes of you girls' fans and promotors if they knew she was dating a debt collector for the Japanese mob?"
"Well, at least you're considerate. I'll give you that." Yuka replied, facing front in her seat again as the car glided along the highway, on it's way to the airport.
[LATER]
"Damn, either you've got quite the send off or my ass is in trouble." Katsu's voice drew Yuka's attention up from her phone as she was texting Masami and Kayako to make sure they got along to the airport okay. They would have been able to ride with her and Katsu if he'd had the room in his car for two more passengers and their luggage. She looked up from her phone as Katsu pulled his Veyron up to the departure curb where a black Rolls Royce was already parked. She instantly recognized the driver standing outside the car like a statue. Only when they got close enough to be noticed did the man suddenly come to life and opened the back door to let someone out.
Katsu's car pulled up right behind the Royce and Yuka saw one of the subjects of their earlier conversation step out of the vehicle. Koichi Takamoto. Grandson to the Chairman of the Kuroryu Kai and son to the Patriarch of the Takamoto Family...who also happened to be the Captain of the Kuroryu Kai. Yuka didn't understand how one person could be in charge of his own gang and be second in command to the man that was the boss of all bosses. At the sight of Koichi, however, Yuka rolled her eyes and said to her brother, "Yeah, like they're gonna send your best friend since elementary school to shoot you in the head."
"Hey, it'd be poetic." Katsu said with a smirk. "Oh, shut up!" Yuka playfully chided him as they both got out of the car. Yuka went right for her bags as she heard Katsu greet Koichi. "Yoooooo!!! Ko-kun! The hell you doing here?!"
"Isn't it obvious? I came to see the wrestler off." Koichi said in his more formal manner of speaking. He wasn't a stiff, like most people on the outside seemed to think of him as, just because of his highly financially fortunate upbringing. He was just better with words than some others were. Like her brother, for instance. Yuka slung one bag over her shoulder - the bigger one - and carried the smaller one down by her side as she walked up to the front of the car where Koichi and Katsu were talking. Koichi gave her a smile as he looked her over. "I see you're all ready to go, then. Are you excited?"
"Of course! And...a little nervous." Yuka admitted.
"She's getting homesick and she hasn't even left the ground yet." Katsu teased as he leaned against his car and sparked up another cigarette. Yuka pulled down her eyelid and stuck her tongue out at him. He laughed.
"You'll do fine." Koichi said, reassuringly. "You all will. I'm sure of it." He reaffirmed this with a nod.
"Thanks." Yuka said, genuinely. "I...I know I will." She was sure, too, but still she couldn't help but know she wasn't going to see everyone she was so close to. Koichi, for one. He was like another brother to her. "Awww, Ko-kun!" Yuka set her bags down. "I'm gonna miss you!" She hugged him around his neck and felt his arms squeeze her back. He was a lot stronger than his lean frame let him on to be. He and Katsu both could have been wrestlers, easily. Any promotion would have been foolish to turn them down. But, such was the life her brother chose and the life Koichi was raised in.
"I'm gonna miss you, too." Koichi said as he hugged her before stepping back and giving a polite bow. The manners he was more well known for. "Katsu and I will be sure to come see you girls do your thing when NFW goes on another Japan tour."
"You better!" She said firmly yet playfully. "Hopefully, we'll be fully settled in by then. Maaaaaybe one of us will have a title? I don't know. Too soon to tell."
"I hope they do another When World's Collide show. That was incredible last year!" Koichi said, with the wrestling fan in him starting to show.
"Duuuude! That was fucking sick!" Katsu said with his cigarette in his mouth. "Adrianna Salvatore squashing Mayu Iwatani in four minutes and then Okada and Scott Leroux going to a sixty minute draw? They gotta do that again! Who would they pit against one another this time, though?"
Koichi thought for a minute before his eyes lit up. "Judas Lasher versus Hiroshi Tanahashi!"
Katsu's eyes lit up. "Yeeeeessss!!!! GO ACE!!!" He pumped his fist into the air, yelling at the top of his lungs. Someone else about a hundred yards away, echoed it back and Yuka's brother grinned and pointed over in approval.
"You guys are such dorks!" She giggled, reaching to pick her bags up again. Koichi, always the gentleman, got her big bag for her as she picked up her carry on.
"Katsu, put that out. Let's go." Koichi said, motioning with his head for Katsu to follow. Yuka's brother wasted no time in snuffing out his half smoked cigarette and walked with his friend and sister into the airport. As usual, it was crowded with others getting ready to travel. The three were barely in the doors when two very familiar voices pierced through the loud din of others. Well, perhaps not pierce. But they certainly stood out.
"YUKA-CHAN!!"
"YUUUUKA-CHAAAAAAAN!!"
Yuka turned towards the sound and her face lit up when she saw two girls approaching. Tall and short. The tall one (well, she was 5'7, so tall in comparison to the other one) was dressed modestly in a woman's casual suit. Deep blue with a white blouse. Her hair hung down around her shoulders in a neat flow. Her suit made her look more dainty than she really was. Not that she wasn't a lady. But underneath that formal attire was an impressive physique and a power to go with it. The other girl - the short one - looked like a Japanese pop idol with a bit of a dark side to her. Frilly dress and cute, black Mary Jane slip-ons. She was always so energetic. Where she got it from? Nobody had a clue.
"Masami-chan! Kay-chan!" Yuka set her carry on bag down and stepped forward to hug them both at the same time. "Did you two check in yet?"
"Not yet." Masami, the tallest of the three girls, in the suit said. "We waited for you."
"We do everything together, right?" Kayako, the bubbly one reminded Yuka. Kayako turned to Koichi and Katsu. "Ko-kun! Katsu-kun! You came to see us off?!"
"Like I'd let you three take off without saying goodbye? C'mere." Katsu held his arms out and hugged Kayako around the shoulders as she threw her arms around his waist with a squeal. "Eeeeee! I'm so excited!"
"I'd say that I can tell but you're always like this." Katsu teased and Kayako pouted cutely. "Heeeey! You be nice or I won't give you an autograph when we make it big!"
"You know I'm teasing, Kay-chan." Katsu laughed. "I'm gonna miss all of you. Hit me up on Skype when you girls get settled in!"
"I'll be there, as well." Koichi nodded. "Let us know you got there safe and sound."
"We will. That's a promise." Masami smiled to the boys. "Well, we'd better get checked in so we can get through customs. Our flight leaves in two hours!"
Final hugs and farewells were exchanged before Yuka, Masami and Kayako made their way towards the check in counter for their airline.
"So, this is it, yeah?" Yuka said with a sly grin on her face. "No turning back now!"
"Not once we're on that plane and it takes off!" Masami said, motioning with her hand to indicate a plane soaring overhead and into the distance.
"I can't wait til we get to start on a show and meet everybody in person!" Kayako said excitedly. Her eyes widened with realization. "You girls realize, they're gonna be our co-workers now!"
"Hard to believe, really." Yuka said, taking the lead in the line and set her carry on bag down since it looked like they were gonna be standing for a few minutes without moving.
"I'm gonna be a co-worker to Lara Blackheart!! Yatta!!" Kayako squealed and bounced up and down with the excitement of a little kid on Christmas morning.
"Hey, speaking of which; what's been going on lately with them on Twitter?" Masami asked, looking between the other two girls.
"Who knows? There's obviously some issues going on." Yuka remarked. "Best we don't get mixed in with it. It's not our problem. We need to worry about us and us alone, right?"
"Right!" Masami agreed. "Yup!" And so did Kayako. "Still! I can't wait to get to meet her in person! She's so pretty! Her makeup is always perfect! She always wears the prettiest dresses! She likes My Little Pony! And---"
"Kay-chan!" Yuka interjected with an amused smile. Kayako looked at her with an innocent look of bewilderment. "Calm down or you're gonna burn yourself out."
"That's fine, she'll sleep on the plane." Masami giggled.
"No chance! I'm too excited to sleep!" Kayako shook her head. Her pigtails swinging across her face until she stopped.
"We've got a sixteen hour flight." Masami stated. "Trust me. You'll sleep."
"Just don't give her any ramune on the plane, or she'll be bouncing around the cabin." Yuka said, 'popping' her eyebrows up and down as if to say 'you know I'm right.'
"But I like ramune!" Kayako pouted and lowered her head, looking up at the two with just her eyes. It was her cute face she made that more often than not got her what she wanted. More often as in 99.9% of the time.
"Okay, fine. You can have one bottle! Besides I don't know how easy it'll be to get once we're in America." Yuka said with a glum realization.
"Don't you know? They have Japanese grocery stores popping up there, now." Masami informed Yuka. "Really?" Yuka was surprised but thrilled to hear it. "Nice! Maybe adjusting to a new country won't be so hard after all."
"Hey." Masami said, putting a hand on her friend's shoulder. "We're not adjusting to it. They're gonna have to adjust to us! Think of it that way!"
Yuka laughed and raised a fist beside her head. "Fuckin' right! They ain't ready for us! SBS is on our way!"
"Ooh ooh!" Kayako quipped excitedly. "Team chant! Team chant!"
Yuka looked around at the rest of the people in the airport and shrugged. "Screw it." She stuck her hand out in front of her. Masami and Kayako stuck theirs in over hers. "We gonna make a statement?"
"Hell yeah!"
"Hai!"
"We gonna take NFW by storm?"
"You know it!"
"We've got this!"
"We ready to fuck shit up?"
"All the way!"
"Raw dog, baby!"
Yuka and Masami stopped to look at Kayako with confused expressions. "Wait, huh?" "The fuck?"
Kayako looked at the two and shrugged her shoulders innocently. "What?" Both Yuka and Masami shook their heads. Best not to even question it. Yuka moved on with leading the chant.
"Let's make it happen."
"SUPER BITCH SQUAD!"
"ICHI!!"
"NII!"
"SAN!"
"YOSH!!!"
All three girls threw their hands in the air, snapping their fingers and forming fists. It was the first day of the rest of their lives.
