“In mid-nineteenth century America the phrase Manifest Destiny was coined. It was the belief that it was America’s God given destiny to expand the country west across North America. To Expand their growing nation. That destiny has come and gone. America grew into the country we know it as today.”
As he speaks the map slowly expands as the year changes from the eighteen forties to twenty twenty-one. The whole of America is covered and the states marked and outlined.
“But there are still other destinies left to come.”
The scene cuts to a montage of all the wrestlers involved in matches tonight. All of the champions and challengers are shown specifically.
“Other end game events that will shape a person.”
We see clips of various roster members winning matches or titles. Holding their hands up in victory.
“Events that will elevate people to new heights, or toss them down to their lowest lows.”
We see those same wrestlers losing matches and titles.
“The rise of heroes…”
We see a clip of Minoru Tanahashi holding up the NFW Undisputed Title.
“or the continuing reign of tyranny.“
That changes to show Anton standing over Minoru holding the title high.
“There is no more westward expansion. But this is a new era. A time where destiny looks towards the future. To legacy and eternal fame. Tonight, those who strive for greatness shall attempt to…”
We then see a rapid montage of match footage and still photos of everyone competing tonight. It ends with Minoru and Anton on opposite sides of the screen.
“Manifest Destiny.”
Andrew Payne: Hello and welcome, ladies and gentlemen! We are LIVE at the Collision Center in Chicago, Illinois and this is NFW Manifest Destiny...ISSUE #2!!!!
Miranda Augustino: I been waiting for this night for a while, Andy! We got some big matches going down tonight!!
Andrew Payne: Five championship matches, to include the Perseverance Title in a Fatal Fourway, the Tag and Trios Championships, the United States Championship and in our main event, Anton Crowley will defend the Undisputed Championship, once more, against Minoru Tanahashi.
Miranda Augustino: Why’s that mark ass bitch get a second shot? Tell me that.
Andrew Payne: He gets a second shot because he got screwed over the last time by his former best friend, Super Tiger -- excuse me, Risa Jackson, she calls herself now.
Miranda Augustino: Well, that’s her name.
Andrew Payne: Yeah, well, she stabbed her former best friend in the back and for what? Allegiance with House Crowley? I fail to see the trade off. Speaking of Risa Jackson, though, the Supernova will go one on one against the woman looking to wage a one woman war against House Crowley, Adrianna Salvatore. They’ll be meeting in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
Miranda Augustino: Man kudos to her for the effort, but you gotta be crazy to try and take on Papi and Katie baby and co. by themselves. I don’t give a fuck how big and bad you are. You may as well sacrifice yourself to the goddamn devil.
Andrew Payne: Speaking of sacrifice, how about this Blood Sacrifice match we’ve got tonight? Eavan Maloney and Faye Brown are looking to rescue Logan Bailey from the clutches of La Servientas de Yum Kimil, with the help of one Cassie Morse!
Miranda Augustino: EYE BEE EYE EMM!!
Andrew Payne: What?
Miranda Augustino: I Believe In Mami!!!! Kudos to Cassie for helping too but Faye couldn’t have picked a badder bitch to take the fight to these putas, tonight. I just wish Mami wasn’t fighting with Katie baby and Papi. Mmm, we had some good times.
Andrew Payne: I’d rather not hear about it. We’ve got that and so much more in store for tonight, everyone. Manifest Destiny II begins now! Buckle up!
Miranda Augustino: Hey speaking of which, I tell you Kitten and I’s new thing we do where I put my leg behind---
Andrew Payne: MIR!!! ENOUGH!!!! Let’s hear from some of the roster backstage. I’m getting word that La Profita and La Siervas have something to say.
=============================================
We open in dimly lit room where we see the alter that holds a bound and gagged Logan Bailey. The lights flicker and suddenly the trio of La Profita, Lady Death, and Santa Muerta appear behind the alter and Santa Muerta strokes the cheek of Logan with a smile on her face before she leans down and kisses him on the forehead and then on the lips.La Profita: Manifest Destiny, the night where the first sacrifice will be made. Tonight, we go to battle against two women, but it matters not because fate is on our side. It has been foretold by the gods that tonight is the night where everything starts. It is the night of new rise of Yum Kimil.
Lady Death: Tonight, little Faye and her friend step into our realm, a realm where blood spills and sacrifices are made. Tonight, we show the world that death, comes for all. Tonight, we sacrifice a soul to the god of death and we bring forth his glory and his might for all to bear witness to.
Logan, begins to stir a little bit and struggles, trying to break free, but Santa Muerta is right there, caressing his cheek lovingly as she smiles and holds onto his hand for just a moment before grabbing a bowl and dipping her thumb into it. She then makes marks around his face, in a ritual type of manner before she once again kisses him on the forehead and smiles.
Santa Muerta: The sacrifice is ready. He will make the perfect offering to Yum Kimil. Faye, your boyfriend has a bigger purpose in this life and when you realize that, all the pain and all the suffering will go away. We’ll even extend our hands to you and welcome you into our family once it is over, allow you to share in the power Logan will give us when he is given up to our god. The sooner you realize that, the better off we’ll all be at the end of the day.
La Profita: And Eavan, you are going to be but a mere casualty in all of this. Perhaps in a different life, you would have been perfect for our family, but tonight, we must put you out to pasture for good.
As La Profita finishes the words, the lights flicker once again and this time, not only are the three of them gone, but so is the alter as the room sits bare now and the scene fades out.

In the midst of the excitement, madness, and eagerness for Manifest Destiny II, the lights suddenly go out throughout the arena. The fans stir with curiosity and wonder, all the while the Trauma commentary team is puzzled.Andrew Payne: Huh? We weren’t scheduled for a blackout...
Miranda Augustino: What’s going on back there, pendejos?! Fix this shit!
Before any technical actions can be done, however, a new yet familiar song resonates from the PA system.
“And this is how it feels when I ignore the words you spoke to me
And this is where I lose myself when I keep running away from you!”
His hair is dark as night and his eyes are of the earth’s colors. Dawned in a tailored black and red suit, the gentleman saunters his way down towards the ring. Some of the fans immediately recognize him when he descends the ramp, a mixture of reactions while the females are taken in by his handsome features.
“And this is who I am when, when I don't know myself anymore
And this is what I choose when it's all left up to me…”
Andrew Payne: Is that who I think it is?
Miranda Augustino: It is! Ayyy Papi!
The attraction certainly captures Miranda’s attention. Of course, the gentleman notices this, smiles, and politely bows to her. He then makes his way around the ring, the red spotlight following him with every step, his earth-colored eyes now focused on the ring itself. He ascends the steel steps, enters the ring between the ropes, and he gauges the fans. A sadistic smile forms across his face before the spotlight goes out, leaving everyone in the dark.
“Breathe your life into me, I can't feel you
I'm falling... falling faster
Breathe your life into me, I still need you
I'm falling… falling, breathe into me! Breathe into me!
(BREATHE!)”
The fans stir in anticipation as red pyro shoots from all four corners of the ring. The lights immediately come back on and the gentleman takes a bow in the center of the ring with a smile. Upon closer inspection, there’s a microphone in his left hand, and he raises it to his lips. His music fades right on cue.
Nathaniel Dixon: Oh… I remember the adrenaline. How I’ve missed it so.
The baritone of his British accent draws fangirl squeals from the crowd. He looks around with a soft chuckle and his smile never fades.
Nathaniel Dixon: It’s been a long time. Almost three years now, is it not? That was my last appearance inside of the squared circle… until now. Oh my, where are my manners? I should introduce myself!
My name is Nathaniel Elijah-Alexander Dixon, CEO and Owner of Dixon Corporate Enterprises based in San Diego, California. Not to be misconstrued for Steele Enterprises. The fact that Mr. Matthews would offer his own headquarters as a battlefield… Simply awful.
This captures the attention of the fans, as well as Payne and Augustino. Dixon is already familiar with superstars of the Trauma brand. A knowing little smirk crosses his face.
Nathaniel Dixon: You must be wondering why I would step foot inside of a wrestling ring. Me, a successful, wealthy, and famous businessman? Well, I can’t exactly vent my frustrations and strike another businessman without consequences. My word, the paperwork I would have to fill out!
Consider this an outlet -- an extension of my passion for a bloody good show. In here? I have nothing to fear. Bell-to-bell, I can fight my fellow employees without restraint or hesitation. Trust me when I say… I look forward to the fun.
The King is dead. Long live the King.
Mysterious. The speculators aren’t sure what to make of this, but they won’t receive the answers they seek anytime soon. Dixon’s music hits the PA system once again and he makes a graceful exit, a smile on his face and a shimmer in his eyes.

There is absolutely no warning before we are greeted by the face of Kensaku Rodell. No doubt that any children watching are scarred for life after being shocked by such a hideous visage. Things do slightly improve thanks to the smiling face of Mayumi Tanahashi. Mayumi smiles and waves as she’s opted for some white, gold, and light blue gear for the night.Kensaku Rodell: Konichiwa, you beautiful bastards! Kenny Rodeezy up in this bitch with Mayumi Tanahashi as she gets ready to whip some ass to try and win that Perseverance title.
Mayumi Tanahashi: So Minasan konbanwa, would have been a much better greeting. Both because of the time of day and because that other isn't a very nice word for greeting people.
Kensaku Rodelli: WHAT? It’s not like these hicks actually understand Japanese. Watch I could say something like Anata no kirainahito to Watashi no kokku o suu, and none of them will even know any better.
Mayumi’s eyes go wide as her mouth opens in shock and disgust. She shakes her head and actually smacks Rodell on the nose like he’s been a bad dog, which gets an ow from the crass backstage interviewer.
Mayumi Tanahashi: You're a very rude person. Girls don't like that. They also don't like guys with tiny penises though, so that's probably why you're rude and angry. Gomen'nasai.
Mayumi then pats his shoulder and smiles slightly. Rodell looks over at her, then down to the front of his pants, then up, then he scurries off before there’s a potential FCC violation. Mayumi shrugs, the cameraman seems to do the same, and she giggles a little bit.
Mayumi Tanahashi: Well looks like it’s just me again this time. The Deja Vu is starting to get really strange. The first on-camera thing I did there, on my own, first here, on my own, well now that the oshirinoana is gone.
Mayumi giggles a little bit to herself knowing that she had gotten away with saying a bad word since most of the people watching were unlikely to know her native tongue. Mayumi then straightened up, took a superhero-like pose, raised her head, and smiled.
Mayumi Tanahashi: It is strange to feel like I am reliving the past in a way, but it’s exciting because as much as this feels like what I have done before, everything is different. I came over to the country in the midst of an absolutely crazy time for the World. I did not have a contract with anyone, I simply took a chance, moved halfway across the World, hunkered down for quarantine, and then hit the ground running when an opportunity presented itself. Nobody expected me to have such early success, especially me. This time is meant for me to discover what kind of a wrestler I am, but more importantly, what kind of person I am. So far wrestling hasn’t changed the fact that I care about people, I like to have fun and of course, I want to entertain all the great fans. Some will call that naive, some will call it dumb, some will mock me, but I don’t care. I am learning very quickly that I am pretty good at this wrestling thing. There have been some stumbles along the way, but that’s why I was so grateful to find gold early in my career. Even though it was insanely controversial and I was a co-champion at one point and there were always multiple contenders. Despite that, I loved it because it meant I got to wrestle more often and against all sorts of varied competition. I won, I lost, I got frustrated, I got excited, I made friends and enemies, and more than anything I grew.
Mayumi stops and takes a deep breath, she loses her hero pose a bit, but still smiles and laughs a little before she stops, walks over to a nearby cooler, and grabs a bottle of water. She takes a big gulp, then a small swig, and gives the thumbs up.
Mayumi Tanahashi: Gomen'nasai. Sorry sorry, I got a little bit long-winded, wait, long worded, Long-winded yea, that’s the one. Sorry about that. I’m just very excited tonight. Not only do I have a chance at earning the Perseverance Championship, but I’m taking a page out of Oru’s book and going for something I want. With Trauma going back to weekly shows, I wanna wrestle as much as possible, So win or lose tonight, I am asking Isabella Santiago and Steven Brody to consider allowing me to have the… uhm… shoot… the uh… The Tanahashi Trials, ha Minoru isn’t the only one with clever names.
She smiles then does a silly little fighter pose attempting to look fierce, but the battle face isn’t quite there.
Mayumi Tanahashi: Yea, The Tanahashi Trials. I would love singles contests, but we can do other matches if needed. If I do win the Perseverance title tonight, anyone who pins me or forces a submission could earn a title shot. If I’m not, well people will always like good fun wrestling matches between people trying to move up the ladder. I want to be a champion, and if I win, I will be a proud fighting champion, but even more than that, I want to, no I need to wrestle as much as possible. Big shoes have been left to fill recently and it seems like there’s more going empty than getting stepped into. I need to be ready, and I need to be better. I am on a mission to fly higher than ever before and I hope everyone will come and… FLY WITH MEEEE!!!!!
She does her signature pose, throwing up the flying V as we fade out.
